Sept 27th . Creating surveys

Image
Completed my survey for users to fill out  https://sfsu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6onekRdONwJItSu and also reached out to my expertise and made a survey for them to fill it out too. I made this survey as a way to get their initial insights, which I am also planning to make a more refine one at the end to narrow down the information I need for this research. Making surveys help me to collect and analyze data of the audience. It gives us a quantitative insights, it helps us validate some data and having public opinion helps out for user-experience.

Tomorrow: Not Impossible - A Film by Not Impossible Labs

On September 26th, we viewed a video titled 'Tomorrow: Not Impossible - A Film by Not Impossible Labs.' Watching this video greatly motivated me to consider, 'If I don't try to achieve what I aspire to do, who else will?'   I found it truly remarkable and surprising how Mike managed to turn his vision into reality. Although we may not always know precisely what we're doing, collaborating with experts and pooling our collective knowledge can transform the seemingly impossible into reality. Embarking on endeavors that no one has attempted before can be intimidating, yet it's the exhilarating aspect of being an innovator. Generating unconventional ideas that initially appear unattainable and ultimately making them achievable fuels our desire to continue inventing things that can enhance the lives of others. "Don't sit back and wait for somebody else to go do it, you gotta go do it yourself. Because if you don't, who will?"

Pain/Injury Relief . Personas Assignment Blog

On Sept 14th, we went through more in deep with our proposal by creating personas and their daily life with the problem I propose to get a better idea of how my audience is going to be. A new statement has been propose: Individuals often lack personalized injury management and rehabilitation support, leading to prolonged discomfort and hindered mobility. They tend to suffer muscle tension, post-exercise soreness, or muscular injuries. The purpose of this proposal: I would like to design a device that can relief individuals muscular pain tension and soreness. Not only for that, but also a way to make individuals feel comfortable and relax after a long day. I mean, who won't like to have a massage every night after a long day, right?  After creating my personas and their schedule, I analyzed the challenges that they are having in their daily life and came up with the most challenging sub-problems that my personas had: 1. Injury management 2. Rehabilitation support 3. Pain man...

Proposal for 505 Class

Image
I have in mind 3 proposals for my senior project: Design Within Reach Project , Dr. June Fisher. (Health and Well-being Service System Designs/Furniture Systems/Space Planning) Problem: Dr. Fisher is an older adult who increasingly finds that items in her upper kitchen and closet shelves are now out of her reach. Currently available step stool solutions do not meet her needs: some are too tall; others have a stepping area that is too small, and most do not have handholds to provide needed balance and stability during reaching. Finally, many step stools are heavy and bulky, making them difficult to move and position.   Purpose: to create a specialized step stool for older adults like Dr. Fisher, addressing their challenges of reaching high shelves. The step stool will have an adjustable height, secure stepping area, and handholds for stability. It aims to be lightweight and easy to move while improving independence and convenience for users.     2....

Problem Statement Maximiliano Gomez, an university student, who need a way to carry his daily needs such as phone, keys and airpod in a way that makes him feel light and that doesn't make him look that he has bulky pants. Iteration: We had 3 mins to sketch some solution for the problem that Max is facing. We came up with these solutions: - A lanyard: Where the user can attach the phone to the end of the lanyard. with a pocket for aidpod and some cash and the other side, a hook for the keys. - All in one phone cover: A phone case where the wallet and airpod are attached magnetically. A side hook where the user can attach their keys together. - A pant with velcro pockets: A pant with hidden velcro pocket that can be open by pulling the tab and hide by closing it . image 1.1 sketches of different solution for the problem  Storyboard: We took 5 mins to develop a storyboard with the solution design User in context: A drawing of the user with all his needs in his pocket bulking up...
